ANDREW GRIMA
Born in Italy in 1921, Andrew Grima is the icon of modern Jewellery, who innovated the business with new techniques and set the emphasis on abstract designs. In the mid-1960s, Grima had become the doyen of British jewellery design and was the only jeweller that had won the Duke of Edinburgh Prize for Elegant Design. He also won the Diamond International Award, known as the Oscars of jewellery design, for eleven times and was the appointed jeweller to Her Majesty the Queen in 1970. Captivated by his creative and powerful designs, Omega commissioned Grima to design a collection of watches, About Time. The series revolutionised watch design and defied the test of time for their ingenuity.
