Important Jadeite 'Fortune Melon' and Diamond Pendant

The jadeite of highly translucent emerald green colour, carved as a fortune melon, mounted in 18 karat white gold, to an adjustable black cord embellished with brilliant-cut diamonds.
Fortune melon measuring approximately 63.72 x 28.85 x 18.18mm.

Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory report numbered KJ100976, dated 4 October 2019, stating that the jadeite is natural, known in the trade as 'A Jade'.

THE FORTUNE MELON
In the Chinese culture, the fortune melon is an auspicious motif representing luck and blessings, fertility and plentiful of descendants. When carved in collocation with vines and gourds, it symbolizes the pursuit of prosperity of longevity.

Ma Na is one of the major old mining areas in Hpakant of Burma, unearthing some of the most desirable jadeite that possesses fine texture and translucency.
However, the mining practice is immensely time consuming yet the yields and outputs are limited, resulting in rarity of such high quality old mine Hpakant jadeite.

Tiancheng International is delighted to present an exceptional jadeite ‘fortune melon’ pendant (Lot 111) from Hpakant. Fashioned as a succulent melon, the splendid carved jadeite radiates a saturated intense green hue within an impressive thickness. Highly translucent with fine texture, the pendant is a rare piece of its kind.
