MONNICKENDAM LONDON

Monnickendam was founded in 1890 by Louis Monnickendam in Amsterdam. In 1914, its head office was relocated to Hatton Garden, Britain, the famous jewellery district in London.
Monnickendam has been supplying the finest diamonds to the celebrated jewellery houses of Europe. Their diamonds are cut and polished from roughs by highly skilled cutters. In 1947, the government of Tanganyika presented a rough diamond to Queen Elizabeth II for her wedding and Monnickendam was chosen to cut and polish the stone to produce a pair of earrings. In 1966, Monnickendam received the Queen’s Award for Industry in recognition of its contributions to the diamond exports business. After 125 years, Monnickendam’s mission to “give life to rough diamonds” remains unchanged in its continual commitment to enhance the glitters to its diamond jewellery.
To be offered in the auction is a 1.06-carat Fancy Light Brownish Pink diamond from Monnickendam, flanked by two step-cut white diamonds, the ring is set in a sophisticated design to accentuate the bright hue of the stone. This piece is without question a cherished beauty for diamond lovers.
