The stamped 999 gold commemorative coin of the People's Republic of China, one side showing The Temple of Heaven, to the obverse depicting a panda holding bamboo leaves, weighing one ounce, with a face value of Renminbi 100 Yuan, diameter: 32mm.

Chinese Gold Panda
The Chinese Gold Panda is a series of commemorative gold coins issued by the People’s
Bank of China since 1982. It is also legal tender in the People’s Republic of China. Illustrated
on each coin is the image of a panda, a national symbol of the country. Globally, the Chinese
Gold Panda stands on par with the American Gold Eagle, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, the
Australian Gold Kangaroos and the South African Gold Krugerrand. Collectively, they have
been designated the “five major international investment gold coins.”
Designed by Mr. Luo Yonghui of Shanghai Mint Company, the 1989-edition 1 oz Gold Panda,
together with its silver version, won the “Ten Best Global Coins” competition held by
Deutsches Munzen Magazin, a trade publication from Germany, in 1989.
