Cartier

Louis-François Cartier established Cartier in Paris in 1847. His son Alfred and grandson Louis, Pierre and Jacques pursued the worldwide brand name of Cartier, with its sight firmly set on abroad. In 1899, Louis moved the Paris branch to the Rue de la Paix where it was the prestigious cosmopolitan hup of the capital city which attracted all the famous nobilities and aristocrats from all over the world.
It is said that Cartier is the Jeweller to Kings. Russian and English Kings were enchanted by Cartier’s design. A few years later, Jacques took the reign of the British branch and cultivated ties with remarkable Indian Princes such as Maharajah of Patiala who entrusted Cartier with marvelous gemstones from his treasure to be reset in pieces of jewellery in a modern style. In 1909 and 1911, Cartier Maison had been further opened in New York and India, nourishing its rise to global status. Nowadays, Cartier operates more than 200 stores in 125 countries, with four emblematic boutiques worldwide.
