Lavender Jadeite, Jadeite and Diamond ‘Beetles’ Jabot Pin, Jason Koo

Modelled as a beetle, the body encrusted with a good translucent jadeite cabochon of intense lavender colour, the wings set with a highly translucent curved jadetie plaque of bright emerald green colour, decorated to the head by brilliant-cut diamonds, to a similarly-set terminal of a smaller beetle, linked by a pin and a rose-cut diamond-set chain, mounted in 18 karat white gold, pendant fittings, signed.

Lavender jadeite cabochons measuring approximately 22.87 x 18.92 x 12.46 and 10.56 x 9.45 x 5.98mm respectively; curved jadeite plaques approximately 30.35 x 12.30 x 7.75 to 12.21 x 6.56 x 3.57mm respectively.

This lot contains jadeite or rubies originating in Burma (also known as Myanmar) and also articles of jewellery containing such gemstones may not be imported into the U.S. With respect to items containing any other types of gemstones originating in Burma (e.g. sapphires), such items may be imported into the U.S. provided that the gemstones were mounted or incorporated into articles of jewellery outside of Burma as long as the setting is not of a temporary nature. Loose gemstones of any type originating in Burma may not be imported into the U.S. In this regard, purchaser’s inability to import any item into the U.S. or any other country as a result of these or other restrictions shall not justify a cancellation of the sale or any delay in payment.

Mr. Koo started his career in both jewellery designing and manufacturing since 1988. The Hong-Kong based Jewellery designer is recognised for his creativity and craftsmanship in the art of Jewellery making. Passion of natural beauty inspires his creative works which composed of materials such as rock crystal, wood, ivory and other materials rarely used by most jewellery designers. His unique contemporary style is unrestrained reflecting fully of his talents.
Never content with prosaic ideas, his artworks are always full of fantasy and details, as seen in lot 215, 222 and 223.
