This piece comprising two components depicts a single pine and a Chinese fir, enveloped in the mountain mist in the depths of the forest. Zhu Jianzhong uses his unique literary temperament and skilled brushwork to produce layers of rendering to generate a faint yet effective atmosphere in tone with his arrangement of white space, creating a solemn yet elegant sense of space.
