For many years, Liang has insisted on a simple and modest approach to art, with an emphasis on the unification of life and art. Within the interchanging concepts of Chinese and Western abstract art, Liang Quan has taken the Zen Buddhist notion of “Emptiness” and put it into his experiment of abstract ink art, thereby taking a Chinese approach enrich the way we appreciate abstract art. In Sailing.After 2012, Liang uses the traditional wet-mounting process used in Chinese painting, using ink or colour on rice paper, he superimposes layer after layer to the painting.
