EXHIBITED The Brewing of the Landscape: the Painting & Calligraphy by Chang Kuang-bin, Art Center of Taiwan Soka Association, Taipei, September 28 to December 24 LITERATURE Art Center of Taiwan Soka Association,The Brewing of the Landscape: the Painting & Calligraphy by Chang Kuang-bin, Taipei, 2011, p.37, illustrated in colour FURTHER DESCRIPTION “Even with his mix of modesty and self-pride with ‘Ink Drama’, Chang Kuang-bin has a high level of awareness in his attempt to discover a new rhythm in ink from within ancient art. Putting aside the framework of reproduction, his technique in using dry ink to mimic cracks in landscape painting embodies both abstract and sensual elements. Besides viewing landscape as a symbol of nature, Chang uses dry ink to fill the paper with scattered dots, not only as a demonstration of his creative awareness to create new visuals, but also as a realisation of an natural sense of freedom.” - Excerpted from The Peaks and Valleys at Heart - A Brief Discussion of the works of Chang Kuang-bin by Chia Chi Jason Wang, 2010
