Architecture is a major subject matter of Luo's work. Throughout the years, he traveled near and afar in China to take pictures of unpopulated areas and uncover buildings not affected by modern society. His pictures often show the fleeting rate of how fast the city landscape has been changing in recent years. The area of Shanxi has done much work in preserving aged architecture and was the source of Luo's inspiration. The present lot features two trees. The tree and its shadow displays the interplay of the oriental philosophy of the yin and yang.
